All students participating in the housing lottery and room selection will have until April 15th to sign their housing contract. Any students who fail to sign the housing contract will be automatically removed from housing after this date.
Students who have signed a housing contract but seek to cancel or leave the college will be subjected to the refund schedules listed below (pending board approval in July, 2015).
FALL REFUND SCHEDULE
Prior to April 15: full 16 week refund
April 16 – July 1: 15 week refund
July 2 – August 15: 14 week refund
August 16 – September 3: 13 week refund
September 4 – September 16: 12 week refund
September 17 – September 30: 8 week refund
October 1 and after: 0 week refund
SPRING REFUND SCHEDULE
Prior to November 15: full 16 week refund
November 11 – December 15: 15 week refund
December 16 – January 15: 14 week refund
January 16 – February 3: 13 week refund
February 4 – February 16: 12 week refund
February 17 – March 2: 8 week refund
March 3 and after: 0 week refund
BOARD PLAN REFUND SCHEDULE
Students on the A La Carte board plan will receive a refund that is based on actual meal plan point usage, so long as the semester has not yet concluded. Any point dollars that are unspent after the semester’s conclusion are non-refundable. For example, if you are released from your housing contract mid semester and have 375 points remaining, you will receive a board refund of $375. However, if you are released from your housing contract in January for the spring semester only, you will not receive a refund for your fall semester’s unspent points.
Students on the Carte Blanche plan will be refunded at a weekly rate for each week not in residence.
For example, if you are released from your housing contract with 3 weeks remaining in the fall semester and have 75 points remaining, you will receive a refund for the cost of the remaining weeks and your unspent points. However, if you are released from your housing contract in January for the spring semester only, you will not receive a refund for your fall semester’s unspent points.
If a student does not meet the criteria for a contract release, they will be held financially responsible for all housing and dining charges for the entire academic year. Checking out of your room, commuting, or moving to an off-campus residents does not qualify as being released from the housing contract, and does not make you eligible for a housing or board refund.
