TCNJ Tiered Housing Pricing

TCNJ Residential Education and Housing is making some exciting changes!

Starting in Fall 2026, all sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be able to live together as part of the newly named Rising Student Experience (RSE) cohort. The Freshman Year Experience (FYE) cohort will continue as it does now. This will allow students more choice and agency in their housing options. The College is also expanding air-conditioning to additional residence halls during the summer of 2026. Additionally, we’ve heard your feedback. Starting in Fall 2026, housing costs will align with amenities. See the table below to better understand what this looks like. Final housing fees are determined at the June 2026 Board of Trustees Meeting.

Housing Changes for 2026–2027

The cost of your housing is based on the tier AND occupancy of your room. The following table outlines this by semester.

Double BASE – $500 BASE BASE + $500

Students will still be billed a specific college partnership housing rate, that may then vary or be adjusted based on the tier and room type of the space selected. Final room and board rates are determined during the June Board of Trustees meeting.

Career and Community Studies (CCS)

Students residing in all other on campus housing will pay the appropriate room rate based on tier and room type, along with a $300 CCS housing fee.

Students residing within the College Houses will pay a standard flat rate, that includes the CCS housing fee by default.
