MCCC STUDENT HOUSING at The College of New Jersey
Experience the benefits of living on an engaging, active college campus while attending Mercer County Community College!
The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and MCCC developed an arrangement for Mercer students to live and engage on TCNJ’s campus while taking classes at MCCC. Mercer students will have opportunities to engage in residential communities, dining, student events and organizations, fitness facilities, the library and more!
HOW TO APPLY FOR TCNJ CAMPUS HOUSING
- After successfully enrolling at MCCC, students can request the MCCC Student Housing Application and pay the $600 deposit. Students must contact MCCC to access the application.
- The MCCC Student Housing Application will be available for Spring 2025 on November 4th.
- Applicants will receive an email to their MCCC email address with instructions on accessing the MyHousing Portal to finish the application.
- Applicants must be matriculated MCCC students that are in good conduct standing. Status will be verified with MCCC prior to the Housing Application being sent.
- Applicants will receive an email from TCNJ Housing with instructions for completing the application.
- Applicants must fully complete the TCNJ health requirements prior to being able to move onto campus.
- Applications must be fully completed and contract signed by August 15 for priority consideration. After that, late applicants will be considered only if space is available.
COST BREAKDOWN
- Double Occupancy Room, Apartment Meal Plan, TCNJ ID: $8500 per year
- Double Occupancy Room, Apartment Meal Plan, TCNJ ID: $4250 per semester
Mercer Students are required to have a meal plan. While the costs above include the apartments meal plan, students may choose to upgrade to any of the Residential Meal Plans for an additional cost, if desired.
Additionally, Mercer students are eligible for Winter Break Housing or Summer Housing for an additional cost, if they have a need for it. For those details and costs, click the links above.
If students change their mind and wish to terminate their housing, they should refer to the process here.
BENEFITS FOR MCCC STUDENTS

- Have a designated Community Advisor who can help you navigate campus and connect to community.
- Access to campus resources, including:
- All of our dining facilities, whether it’s our award-winning main dining atrium, a coffee at one of our campus cafes, or our late-night dining location where mozzarella sticks and chicken tendies rule. And your meal plan is included, so there’s no need to scramble and cook a meal after a long day of classes and studying.
- Use of our campus library, which includes a cafe and quiet study rooms.
- Attend athletic events. We have 18 varsity teams. The College of New Jersey has a proud history that includes 39 NCAA Division III National Championships. That number is the third most NCAA National Championships in Division III and ranks 13th across all three Divisions.
- Use the TCNJ fitness center and recreational spaces, including sand volleyball court, outdoor and indoor basketball courts, tennis courts, and game room.
- Participate in intramurals or become a member of one (or some) of our 200+ student organizations.
- Future room and board discounts for students who decide to transfer to TCNJ after completion of their associate’s degree.
- For students eligible for financial aid at Mercer County Community College (MCCC), the MCCC financial aid office will recalculate the cost of MCCC attendance to take into consideration the TCNJ room and board costs. This will increase students’ eligibility for financial assistance at MCCC and support access to a college residential experience that enhances their overall educational experience. Students are not eligible to receive financial aid from TCNJ.

- Do I get to select my room?
- No, but MCCC students will be assigned together! Students are also able to request specific roommates to live with if they know someone. Even after moving in, students can also request a room change within the MCCC community to live with someone they might have things in common with!
