Who is eligible for winter housing?
All residents are eligible to apply for winter housing. However, only students with a spring assignment are guaranteed a space for the winter as students will need to move into a temporary housing location and then back into their permanent assignment. If necessary it is possible that students will be assigned to a double occupancy room with a roommate for the Winter Break period based on the number of students who may be seeking housing
What is the cost of winter housing?
Students will be charged a standard rate of $238.07 for their room. No meal plan will be available for the winter session. Information on whether or not a Dining location will be open in the Student Center will be forthcoming.
When is the application deadline for winter housing?
Applications need to be submitted through MyHousing by 12:00pm on Monday, December 20, 2021 in order for the student to move in on Sunday, December 26, 2021 or Sunday January 2, 2022. However, applications will continue to be accepted after Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Information on how students will be able to move into their New Residence Hall room will be sent to students after they apply and are assigned.
Where do students live for the winter?
For the winter session students will be required to consolidate in to New Residence Hall.
Is there a meal plan associated with winter housing?
There will not be a meal plan associated with winter housing. Each room in New Res comes furnished with a Microwave\Refrigerator combo and students will have access to a communal kitchen area.
What if I need to cancel my winter housing application?
Please contact Residential Education and Housing immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org to cancel your winter housing assignment. If possible all cancellations should be submitted by noon on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
What if I am an athlete or international student who needs to live on campus over winter break?
You will not need to apply for winter housing as Athletics or the Center of Global Engagement will advise our office of who needs to live on campus over winter break.
